We are back from Oktoberfest in Munich and are already looking forward to next year. It was unlike anything we have ever seen. The tents (if you want to call them that) were MASSIVE. They had full chandeliers, working kitchens and most importantly a copious amount of beer. We had no idea that Oktoberfest was a full on carnival in addition to the beer drinking event we knew it to be. There were rides, food vendors, games, etc.
We wanted to go big for Oktoberfest as we only planned on going one day, so decided to wake up at 6am to get ready that Saturday. We put on our dirndl’s and lederhosen and started our journey to the venue. We met up with 15 friends (not joking) outside the venue. The best part was seeing all these people from various eras in our lives. Kurt had childhood friends from Danville and friends from Chico, while I met up with some of my best friends from San Francisco and college! We lined up at the Spaten tent and were seated outside in the pre-tent area. As soon as we were let in the doors, we ran in to get a seat all together. Before I tell you every detail, I will let you see it for yourself in one of our favorite Go-Pro videos yet.
Needless to say, we drank an undisclosed amount of beer and the planning has already begun for next year.
